Spice/Position
KaleidElastic uses the gradient or luminance of a selected spice file as the basis for the effect. At
the top of the KaleidElastic are the Choose Spice
File button and related controls for positioning and modifying the effect when it is based on a spice file. To select from hundreds of available spice geometries, click the Choose Spice
File button. If you also have our SpiceMASTER plug-in, the controls work identically.
H Flip -- Flip the spice horizontally.
V Flip -- Flip the spice vertically.
Invert -- Reverse spice (invert the effect).
Center -- Drag the handle or enter X and Y coordinates to move the spice.
Rotate -- Rotate the spice.
Reflections
Progress -- Progressively sets the extent of the effect established by other controls. Thus the slider is designed, when keyframed from 0% to 100%, to gradually increase or decrease the effect. To just set a static effect during the entire clip, there is no need to keyframe -- just experiment with the slider to determine its best constant value for your desired effect.
Spice Effect -- Controls the reflections distance over time. The effect will begin where blackest pixels reside (in the spice file's image, not your content), then proceed to where lighter grays reside, and finally end where the whitest pixels exist in the spice image.
Fade -- Controls the reflections opacity over time.
Background -- When the default Image choice is active, KaleidElastic will superimpose the reflections over the original. Choose Transparent to have ONLY reflections appear in the output.
Reflections -- Set the reflections number and positions.
Distance -- Sets the relative distance between reflections.
Spread -- Specifies the size of the effect area, as determined by the chosen Spice Effect and Fade menus above. If both are None the control not have visual impact.
Angle -- The reflections directions will follow the luminance gradient, unless you use this control to rotate the direction.
Extras
Softness -- Blurs the pixel basis used by KaleidElastic. Therefore, it can significantly smooth the direction/power variations, especially at the sharp edges.
Input -- When the default Spice's Gradient choice is active, KaleidElastic reflections directions will follow the luminance gradient. Or, you can base the KaleidElastic effect on the Spices's Luminance, which creates an entirely different/unique effect basis.
Multiplier -- When Input > Spice's Luminance is active, controls how many times the effect repeats in each direction. When Input > Spice's Gradient is active, dampens the effect power at the high-gradient areas and sharp edges.
Cut Edges -- Removes unwanted sharp edges (in the spice file's image, not your content).
