Which video editing software are these Blur-Sharpen plugins compatible with?

• Vegas Pro/Vegas Movie Studio version: Compatible with Vegas Pro 11 or later (32-bit or 64-bit) and Vegas Movie Studio 11 or later.

• CyberLink PowerDirector version: Compatible with PowerDirector 12 or later, WINDOWS only.

Do these blur and sharpen plugins have special hardware requirements?

All of our blur-sharpen effects plugins are hardware-accelerated via your computer's video/graphics chip to accelerate rendering. Therefore, a DirectX 9 or OpenGL 2.1 compatible graphics card is required (almost any chip released in the last 10 years will work). A DirectX 10 or OpenGL 3.2 compatible card with at least 1GB video memory is recommended for HD and high bit-depth editing. Even if you know you have a compatible card, we highly recommend you take a moment to download and try our DEMO before buying.

How is the DEMO different than the purchased version?

The demo overlays an X on the plugin’s output. Upon purchasing, the X will disappear (on whichever plugins you purchased). No need to re-apply the effects in your project, saving you time.

 

What about image-editing versions for Photoshop?
All three Pro versions of the Blur-Sharpen Tools plugins -- BlurBlender Pro, Smart Sharpen Pro, and Smart Blur Pro -- are available as Adobe Photoshop filter plugins (for Windows). Although Photoshop already contains some blur and sharpen filters, Blur-Sharpen Tools plugins provide many additional ways to customize and blend the effects, plus our industry-exclusive organic masking technology.

I have built-in blur and sharpen effects in my editing software... why buy these plugins?

Blur effects and sharpen effects in most video editing software lack useful controllability -- especially for where and when the effect will occur within a clip. Built-in blurs also typically have limitations with built-in titling. A few systems can provide more control but require many tedious steps and much patience. Our plugins greatly exceed what any system can do, adds useful new capabilities to your editing effects arsenal, and does it at a very affordable price!

Are these plugins only available as a download?

Yes. All of our blur-sharpen plugins are in one installer file, which is a single file that you double-click to run after it's downloaded. You can even download the installer file on a different computer, if necessary, then transfer it with a USB key or other media to your editing computer before installing.

What happens if someday my computer crashes and I lose the downloaded file or serial number?

Can I install on more than one computer of mine?

Our license allows use in two different computers by the same user (such as a laptop "for the road" and a desktop at home) IF the two computers are not used AT THE SAME TIME. To edit on two computers simultaneously, such as for a video production business, a HALF-price second license is available from us on our upgrade form.

Do you have educational pricing?

We offer nice discounts on school site or lab licenses. If you have such a situation, please contact us and mention how many editing stations you may want to purchase for.

What is your return policy?

Most plugin companies insist downloadable products may not be returned under any circumstances. After all, there is nothing tangible to 'return'. At Pixelan, your happiness and satisfaction is very important to us and we treat you as a long-term relationship, not as a one-time buyer. Therefore, if you somehow become unhappy with your purchase within 10 days, we will do our best to resolve it to your satisfaction. Your best protection is to be proactive -- to download and try the DEMO before buying to see if this plugin will meet your creative needs and its hardware-acceleration is compatible with your computer. The demo is easy to install and is identical to the purchased version but shows an X over its output. Installing your purchase will automatically remove the X and uninstall the demo, or you can manually remove the demo anytime via your Windows control panel.
